Job: Frontend Web Developer
We’re looking for a frontend web developer to join us in building software for the wildlife conservation sector.
Our work is some of the most fascinating and rewarding in the industry: building online conservation technology communities, interfaces for anti-poaching camera traps and GPS turtle tags, maps of sharks, seals, seabirds and coral reefs, species databases for scientists, educational games and much more.
The best part of the job is working with some of the world’s most inspiring organisations and people, on projects that make a genuine positive impact.
An interest in user interface design is essential but we work with some great graphic and user experience designers so you would be spending more of the job in a code editor than in graphics software.
We’re a highly collaborative team of five so you’d have direct input into everything we do. You’d also be in regular direct conversation and collaboration with scientists, conservationists and charity-workers.
Being based with us in London would be best, but some remote work is possible and hours are flexible.
We try hard to keep our team as healthy and happy as possible so will give you as many holiday and rest days as you need. We’ll also pay for you to go to conferences and support you to learn new skills. We’re honest with clients about who does what on each project so your great work will be spotlighted and credited as much as possible.
Diversity in technology is hugely important to us so we’ve sponsored diversity and scholarship placements at conferences and run several mentorship schemes. We will be automatically interviewing anyone who applies for this position from an under-represented group.
If you want to join our team, please send us a covering letter explaining some projects you’ve worked on and the code inside them that you’re most proud of.
Although experience of working in the conservation sector is not a requirement we’d also love to hear how this part of what we do is important to you.
Start date: As soon as possible
Salary: Around £35,000 a year
Please apply before Monday, August 2nd.
